New house, fresh ideas and the new chapter

This wonderful house is almost ours. The offer has been accepted and now we are dealing with our solicitor, bank etc. We feel like lottery winners. Not least because we have managed to secure the loan for so much money (the house costs 14,906,470.82 MUR - Mauritius Rupees). Most importantly however, for the first time we have our base. Now we can spend even one year in, say India, doing some projects and have some where come back to. What is this somewhere and what is our perfect house? I think we found it (pictures attached).

I am not sure what made us think that this house is just perfect for us. The house was stagnating half a year on the market. The owner said either you love it or hate it. Maybe it was waiting for us all this time? It's got a somewhat strange room layout, which might not suit all families. Otherwise this 350 year old cottage is perfectly fine (sorry to American colleagues). You actually feel quality when you enter, in a way you cannot say about a relatively new estate house.

This was however not the most important for us, although I must admit - size matters here. Perhaps the character of the place and therefore the feeling of warmth was exactly what convinced us to buy this place. And it is not only the age of the house, but most importantly how it was decorated inside. There was very few things we wanted to change inside.

We immediately recognized that the owner had some interest in spirituality - the energy of this place was good and healing. The house should heal - give your body and mind the rest you need after a full day of working. In the summer the cooling interiors of the thick stone walls and the spacious garden are like a shelter from the outside world.

We feel that this is a new chapter in our lives. It is a good place for Luli, Ralph (our 2.5 year old son), it also provides space to develop some of our new ideas such as establishing our nature conservation organization - Natura International.

We hope the house will also be a place to share our happiness and ideas with friends. We should start the preparations very soon, guys, for our house warming party in August/September.
